Wyoming State President

Lori Brown-Wirth, the current Wyoming ASPIRE President, works as Project Coordinator for Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science through the University of Wyoming. Lori’s office is located in Casper, Wyoming.

Having received an Associate of Arts Degree in English from Casper College, as a single mother of five, (and now a grandmother of three), Lori returned to higher education as a non-traditional student. An alumnus of the McNair Scholar Program, she graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2002.

Lori taught Spanish at Casper College and worked in administration for the City of Casper for five years before joining the Upward Bound program in 2007. Since that time, she has served as Secretary, President-Elect, and now President for Wyoming ASPIRE. In October 2009 Lori was honored with the ASPIRE Rising Star Award.

Lori has a heart for helping others and especially enjoys working with people. One of the highlights for her was working with Nicaraguan Refugees In the late 1980’s where she spent four years living in Costa Rica.

A supporter of ASPIRE and COE, Lori attended Policy Seminar for the first time in March of 2009. She claims it was a very rewarding experience and that she learned a lot about Trio and ASPIRE’s “big picture.”

Lori’s professional development experience includes serving as board members and/or officers for Lion’s Club, the American Diabetes Association, Toastmasters, Casper College Alumni Association, The 12-24 Club (a recovery based center), and Wyoming ASPIRE.
