Utah State President

Yvette’s first full-time job after she graduated from college was working for a TRIO Program – Upward Bound at Adams State College in southern Colorado. Regardless of where she’s gone in life, Yvette always ends up back in a TRIO Program. She left Alamosa to attend law school at the University of Nebraska College of Law. After graduation in 1998, Yvette was hired to run the SSS Program at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was active in MAEOPP, including being a part of their Emerging Leaders Institute, and holding office in the MO-KAN-NE state association.

After a hiatus, which included raising a daughter, being a grant reader, and doing assorted volunteer work, Yvette returned to another TRIO position. She became Director of SSS at Weber State University nearly 2 years ago. Fortunately her husband David and daughter Claire (now 9) can fend for themselves while Yvette spends her spare time writing grants, traveling for ASPIRE, and answering texts from students at all hours.
